Ms. Ruby Crawford, 105 of Kellyton, Alabama (Cottage Grove Community) passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral Service for Ms Ruby Crawford will be 1:00 PM Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church in Kellyton, Alabama.
Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2018 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
Life’s Beginning: On Friday, August 22, 1913 Abraham and Mary Ellen McElrath was blessed with a precious baby girl and they named her Ruby.
Life’s Salvation and Purpose: She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Phillippi Baptist Church in Kellyton, Alabama. Later she united with the Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church and there she was a faithful and devoted servant. She served as a Sunday school and Missionary teacher.
Life Captivation: In 1931, Ruby enter into holy matrimony to Bennie Adell McGhee and to that union thirteen children was born. Many years after the death of Mr. McGhee, she entered into Holy Matrimony with John Ocie Crawford and they both preceded her in death.
Life’s Appreciation: She was devoted to her family and friends. Her passions were cooking and sewing. She known for her sweet bread.
Life’s Sad Moments: She was preceded in death by her parents, four children, four sisters, and six brothers. Life’s End: On Sunday, November 18, 2018, surrounded by the love of her family, God saw that Ruby was growing tired and weary and the road was getting rough and she was in need of rest. God dispatched a host of angels and Ruby gently closed her eyes and took her heavenly flight to glory.
Ruby’s precious memories will always be cherished by her loving children Lorrine Maxwell of Kellyton, Doris (Fred) Smoot of Kellyton, Sara (Tony) Fletcher of New York, Edward McGhee of Alex City, Martha (Earl) Cox of Atlanta, Cheryl Walker of Michigan, Joyce Marbury of Rockford, Alice (Sam) Barnes of Kellyton, 40 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, two sisters in law, Juanita McElrath and Leanna McElrath host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
