Funeral Service for Pastor Ralph Harrelson, Jr., age 87, of Thorsby, Alabama will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Victory Baptist Church in Jemison, Alabama with Brother Donald Jones, officiating . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
He was born to Ralph Harrelson and Mary Ellen Boone Harrelson on December 7, 1934 in Jackson’s Gap, Alabama.
On June 6, 1954, Ralph married the love of his life and enjoyed 68 years of love until his demise. Pastor Harrelson was a faithful husband and loving Dad. But most of all, he was a proud servant for the Lord. At the age of 20, Pastor Ralph Harrelson was called by God to preach his Holy word. He loved preaching God’s Holy Word. Pastor Harrelson was a servant for the Lord for 67 years until demised. During those 67 years of faithful service, he pastored for 49 years, served as a missionary in Nicaragua for 5 years, ministered to inmates and prisoners for 7 years just to name a few.
Pastor Harrelson peacefully transitioned home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster, Alabama.
Pastor Harrelson’s precious memories will always be engraved in the hearts of his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Martha Sue Harrelson, one son, Ralph David Harrelson, one brother, Lynn Harrelson (Claudette), three sisters, Linda Sue Elliott, (Jerry), Mary Ann Goodwin (Mike), six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a son-in-law, Spencer Hodges, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded by his parents, his daughter, Leanne Harrelson Hodges, one sister, Mary Alva Bentley.
