Obituary For Phillip Lawery, Jr.
We are saddened to announce the transition of Mr. Phillip Lawery, Jr. of Goodwater, Alabama on Monday, August 11, 2025.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025 in Goodwater High Auditorium with interment following in the Macedonia Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Phillip was a blessing to have in my classroom. I loved him as a "school mom." I was so proud to see him get his permit and get to visit historic sites with him and friends in Birmingham on a field trip. Phillip made me smile every day with his easy going nature. My sweetest memory of Phillip is when he graduated and my son also graduated kindergarten at the same time and they walked hand in hand down the hall. Rest in peace Phillip. You are loved.

Phillip it was a joy having you in Head Start. From there to when you decided to leave, we stayed in touch and I followed your journey and prayed for you. I love you and God loves you. š„¹š„¹
My bonus son, you were so kind and genuine. You had an ora about you that was so contagious. That even on your worst day. Seeing your smile could make anyone smile. That's just how you were. And that's how I will always remember you. To the family, I extend my deepest condolences. No matter how hard I try to find the right words of comfort. I can't but I pray that in the days ahead. God comforts you in any area needed. And that you can also find it through my many memories you all shared. Phil will be truly missed but will forever live on in the many lives he touched.
