Ms. Mary Knight passed Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at her residence.
The late Elder Mary Jean Knight, was born on February 16, 1937 to the late Mr. Sharper Thomas and Ms. Helen Martin in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. She was united in marriage to Mr. Sam Milliner, Sr. and of this union four children were born. After his death, she was united in marriage to Mr. M.J. Knight.
She confessed Christ at an early age at Seleeta Baptist Church and later joined AOH under the leadership of Elder Marvin Smith, Jr. She became a member of the Apostolic Church of Promise where she served faithfully in the capacities of Assistant Pastor and District Missionary.
Elder Mary Knight peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at the home of her daughter, Brenda Moon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sharper Thomas and Helen Martin; Sam Milliner, Sr., her husband, M.J. Knight; two brothers, Booker T. Thomas and Sharper Thomas, Jr., a son Larry Milliner (deceased at birth) and a greatgrandchild, Syketrius Brooks.
She leaves to cherish her memories: three children, Sam (Gwen) Milliner, Jr. & Brenda (Curtis) Moon both of Alexander City, AL and Jimmy (Wilda Faye) Milliner of Ozark, AL; five step-daughters, Mary Hayes of Chattanooga, TN, Linda (Richard) Hudson of Hueytown, AL, Barbara Knight of Goodwater, AL, Catherine (Jeffery) Mathews of Alexander City, AL and Rosie Walker (John) of Charlotte, NC; three sister in-laws, Frankie Knight, Billie Davis and Dorothy Knight all of Alexander City, AL; two brother in-laws, Eljie Knight of Troy, AL and Carey (Sabrina) Knight of Alexander City, AL; five sisters, Theresa Harris of Alexander City, AL, Mary Barnes of Mobile, AL, Mary Thomas Jernigan of Stone Mountain, GA, Forestine Thomas of Eufaula, and Lois Mack (Willie) of Hurtsboro, AL; nine brothers, James Martin of Alexander City, AL, James Thomas of Eufaula, AL, Jimmie L. Reese of Phenix City, AL, Clarence Young of Tampa, Florida, Issea Thomas of the Netherlands, Bradford Thomas of Brooklyn, NY, Walter Thomas of Dothan, AL, Floyd Thomas and Micky Thomas both of Midway, AL; 11 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
