Mr. Lorenza "Sugar Fat" Russell peacefully transitioned home on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Dadeville Health Care Center.
Services for Mr. Russell of Dadeville, Alabama will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with interment following in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 6, 2019, from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
Mr. Lorenza Russell, Sr. was born August 15, 1939, in Dadeville, Alabama to the late Garfield and Sally Russell. Lorenza AKA “Sugar Fat” worked as a school bus driver for Dadeville School system and worked at Russell Corporation for many years.
Lorenza was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Anthony Brooks, a granddaughter, Zamira Russell, a grandson, Jordan Johnson and a sister, Gloria Johnson.
He was called to his final resting place on November 3, 2019 at Dadeville Health Care with his wife of 55 years by his side. Lorenza’s precious memories will be cherished by his wife, Shirley Ann Russell of Dadeville, eleven children; Lorenza Russell, Jr. of Eugene, Oregon, Sharon Russell, Wilbur Russell, Angela Russell, Amy Russell, Charmette (Kent) Williams, Andre (Allison) Russell all of Dadeville, Tammy Russell of Auburn, Alabama, Kathy (DaminKee) Doss of Camphill, Jasmine Toler of Troy, Alabama; a sister, Willie Ann McIntire of Alexander City, Alabama and 30 grandchildren. 25 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephew and friends.
