We are saddened to announce the transition of Mr. James Black on Friday, July 28, 2023.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 in the Chapel of Wright's Funeral Home with interment following in New Life Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 5:00 until 7;00 p.m.

My fondest memory shall forever be cherished of James Black, one of my Mother's first cousins, in his element, in the kitchen, cooking up one of his infamous gumbo at a family reunion; a smile on his face, delighted, no doubt that everyone would want their own portion and then some. May God rest his soul and may God show Himself the comforter that He is during this very difficult time as family and friends say farewell for now to our James "Mr. Jim" Black.
