Wright's Funeral Home respectfully announces the passing of Mr. Hershel V. Walker On November 19th, 2023.
Funeral Service for Mr. Hershel V. Walker of Alexander City will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Wright’s Funeral Home with interment following at Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until service time. Pastor Will Baker and Pastor Stephen King will officiate.
Mr. Hershel V. Walker was born April 23, 1938 to Maggie Loucile Pearson Walker and Hershel Gray Walker.
He is survived his wife, Patti Benton Walker, two daughters, Jayne Walker Potts (Jeff), Lisa Walker McClellan, one sister, Shirley Britton (Jerry), grandchildren, Derek Gill (Jen)of Pensacola, Florida; John Potts, Chris Potts of Millbrook, Alabama; Adam McClellan of Alexander City, Alabama; great grandchildren, Austin Stroud (Bella), Ethan Gill, Nolin Gill all of Panama City, Florida; Colton Hayes, of Alexander City, Alabama; one great, great granddaughter, Oakleigh Stroud, two special friends, Scott and Sherry Simpson and their precious daughters Seanna and Sabella who called him “granddaddy”.
Hershel's infectious sweet spirit will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife,
Nelda Bishop Walker, two brothers, J.L. Walker, Tibby Grey Walker, two sisters, Catherine Askew Sherrill and Annie Lou Hanson
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Baptist Church in Hershel Walker's name.
