Ms. Era Hawkins of Alexander City, Alabama peacefully transitioned home Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Russell Medical.
Funeral Service for Ms. Era Hawkins will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Mt. Sinai Church Cemetery
Mrs. Era Vay Robinson Hawkins was born on July 24, 1939 to the late Mr. Laborn Robinson and Mrs. Maudie V. (Leonard) Robinson . Mrs. Era graduated from Laurel High School on May 28, 1959. She was a hardworking woman and worked at Avondale for over 40 years.
Mrs. Era was a devoted member to Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, and loved singing in the church choir. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, a sister, Mary Grimes, and a brother, Laborn Odell Robinson, Jr. The Lord called her home on October 2, 2019 at Russell Medical in Alexander City, Alabama.
Mrs. Era leaves to cherish her precious memories; her son Jerry Hawkins, her daughter Angela Hawkins, both of Alexander City, Alabama,, her brother, Lewis Robinson (Kathleen) of Sylacauga, Alabama, two sisters, Classie (Edward) Robinson Norris of Alexander, Alabama, Cathy Robinson Cooper of Montgomery, Alabama, a loving, devoted, caregiver granddaughter, Andrea Berry, and four other grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
