Obituary For David Tyrell Benson

We are saddened to announce the transition of David Tyrell Benson on May 1, 2024.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Friday, May 10, 2024 in the sanctuary of New Style Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

David Tyrell Benson was born October 19, 1996 in Alexander City, Alabama to David and Diane Benson and he came into the world full of life.

David graduated from Central Coosa High School, Class of 2016. He loved playing basketball and hanging out with friends. To know him was to love him.

He departed his earthly life on May 2, 2024 at UAB Hospital.

David precious memories will always be cherished by his loving and devoted parents, David and Diane Benson of Rockford, Alabama, one son, Zander Amir Benson of Alexander City, Alabama; one brother, David Butler, Jr. of Tallassee, Alabama; two sisters, Elizabeth Freeman of Rockford, Alabama and April Smith of Rockford, Alabama; six uncles, Randolph (Jeraldine) Benson, Sherman Moore, Winston (Martha) Harden, Thomas Earl Moore, Terry Moore, and Lee Marvin Moore; seven aunts, Mittie Ann (Mason) Hall, Jessie (James) Robinson, Brenda F. (Eddie Morris) Meadows, Willie Irene (James) Tucker, Helen (Terry) Adamson, Barbara Butler and Dawn Butler; one niece, Jalayla Mona Smith; seven nephews, Unterio Butler, Chevalous Butler, Tracey Butler, Brandon Freeman Traederius Butler, Jadarious Smith and Jastaveion Smith; five great nieces and nephews, Keleigh Butler, Lailani Butler, Braydon Freeman Brody Freeman, Kaylynn MacKenzie; a close and devoted friend, Carlos Spivey and a host of close cousins and friends.
