Mr. Delanski Lamar “Lanski” Williams was born on April 25th,1969, to the parentage of Calvin (Joann) Williams, West Point, GA, and Mary (Amos) Moody, Lanett, AL. On November 8, 2022, at his residence in Riverdale, GA, God, our Father, saw that he was getting tired and called him to his eternal home to rest. Delanski accepted Christ as his Lord and Personal Savior at an early age and joined Pilgrim Baptist Church. When he became older, he attended St. John Baptist Church with his father. Even though he lived in Riverdale, GA and through his illness, he still attended as often as he could and was faithful in his duties to the ministry.
Delanski, a native of West Point, GA, moved to Lanett, AL in the ninth grade and graduated from Lanett High School. He attended Tuskegee University on a football scholarship and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1991. He served in the United States Army (1992 – 1998). After serving in the armed forces, Delanski attended Troy University and obtained a master’s degree in education and acquired a Specialist in Education Degree in 2001 along with several other Post Graduate Certificates. Educating children, especially inner-city children, was his passion. He was employed as an Educator for 23 years in the Fulton and Clayton County Georgia school systems; he was selected twice as “Teacher of the Year” as well as receiving many other accolades during his tenure.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arthur Lee and Essie Mae Floyd; his paternal grandparents, Ralph, and Lizzie Kate Trammell and uncle, David Keith Trammell.
Delanski leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted and loving daughter, Zoria Nakia Williams of Fairburn, GA; father, Calvin (Joann) Williams of West Point, GA; mother, Mary (Amos) Moody of Lanett, AL; siblings, Dr. Zina (Dr. Mario) Kimball of Land 0’ Lakes, FL, LaShieka (Kenneth) Ward of Lanett, AL, Gregory Travis of Union City, GA; uncles, Timothy (Andrea) Floyd of Newmanstown, PA, John Williams of Lanett, AL, Johnny Ray (Debra) Williams of LaGrange, GA, Rev.
