Ms. Barbara Anne Billingslea, a resident of Lanett, AL, died Thursday, January 20, 2022 at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL.
Graveside Services are scheduled for 12:00 P.M. (EST) on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Marseilles Cemetery, Highway 29, West Point, Georgia with Pastor Michael T. Stiggers, Sr. as Officiant/Eulogist. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.
Public Viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.
Ms. Barbara Anne Billingslea was born February 20, 1960 to the late James Thomas (J.T) Billingslea and Floretta Palmer Billingslea. She passed away peacefully on January 20,2022 at EAMC surrounded by her loved ones. Barbara confessed her love for Christ at an early age and became a member of the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church Family in Lanett,AL. She later united with Mt.Pisgah Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev.Michael Stiggers.
Barbara was a product of Lanett City School’s Class of 1978. There she was a member of Lanett’s Golden Panthers Marching Band flag corps. Years passed and Barbara grew to be an amazing woman, teacher, and mentor. She had a caring and loving spirit where she touched the lives of everyone she met.
She chose career paths that would help her leave a positive impression of life like on her co-workers. She was employed as corporate instructor at American Home Shield for many years. Ms.Barbara loved children and was known as “Mama” to many of the kids throughout the neighborhood. She loved kids but there was a special warm love for her own.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Randy J. Billingslea and Varaski Wright and two daughters, Tristan Q. C. Billingslea and Ariel A. D. Billingslea all of Lanett, AL; two brothers, Larry Billingslea, Lanett, AL and Stan Ross, Montgomery, AL; one sister, Bernice Billingslea, Lanett, AL; 11 loving grandchildren, Alexzavier La’Christion, Legend Storm, Ashton Bryck, Cam’Ron Isaiah, Holland Cree, Portland Luqas, Clayton Jagger, Quest Stone, Marveuntae Keundez, Karsyn Danielle and Koi Asher; three special aunts, Teresa Palmer and Betty J. Winston, both of Lanett, AL and Annie V. Slaughter, West Point, GA; god-mother, Helen B. Jones, Columbus, GA; two special god-daughters that she loved dearly, LaSheeka Harvey and Jessica Dunn-Mitchell; and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Billingslea.
