Words can't begin to describe the shocking news of our cousin, Veronica Jones Harville, passing.She was always smiling and the life of the party. When our sons were younger, Veronica was always trying to get them involved with the Jones family activities at our family reunions. Veronica was at our oldest son's (Quinn) wedding here in the Chicagoland area. When our younger son (Zachary) moved to the Atlanta area, Veronica, Ervin and the girls invited him over for dinner making sure he knew he had family in the area. Jones Family Reunions won't be the same without you, but we know you will be there in spirit with us. Love always, Cathie, George, Quinn, Roni, Jordan and Zachary

I had the honor of working with Veronica for the last three years at Sodexo both on food platform projects and in finance. Her energy and positive attitude were always a bright light in the week. Her laugh was infectious! She always took time from her day to check-in on others, ask how you were doing, and offer advice. As a new mom, Veronica always offered helpful tips and even hosted my "virtual" work baby shower!

She spoke so, so fondly of her girls and her family. And I know her spirit will shine through in the great things you'll do in life!

I am forever grateful for the time I got to spend with her and having the privilege to know her.

Allow me to extend my sincere condolences to Veronica's family, whom she was so proud of. Veronica and I were colleagues for many years at Sodexo, connecting as lifelong learners with a passion for mentoring. I will always remember a message she conveyed many years ago, where she vulnerably sharing her appreciation for a mentor who was able to truly see her. That was just who she was... someone who was easy to know, and who opened her heart for others to be who they were with her. I am better for having known Veronica and will miss her.

I met Veronica through work at Sodexo. She was ALWAYS a genuine, caring person, interested in each of us and sharing family and faith wherever she was. We often extended our discussions about family into the after work hours part of the day. I will miss that friendship. I wish they best for her family as they go forward in life.

Veronica will forever be my sister. She is part of a special group of ladies who bonded together as "Line Sisters" while attending The University of Alabama. We are among the 23 women who pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in Spring 1989, joining The Theta Sigma Chapter.

The pain of losing this special soul IS akin to losing a sibling. The shock hits like lightening, but the reality of her absence crashes down with the incredible force of thunder.

Now, I will look for her shining smile in the faces of her daughters, the eyes of her husband, and the hearts of her loving family. My prayers continue for all who were blessed to love her and know her. Only God can place value on my tearful whisperings in clasped hands to Him about allowing my sister to watch over us all until our journeys home.
