Mary Eunice Jackson Evans was born June 5, 1938 to the late Mr. Arthur
Jackson and Mrs. Minnie Johnson Jackson in Cusseta, Alabama. She
was educated in the Chambers County Public School System where
she graduated from LaFayette High School in LaFayette, Alabama.
Ms. Mary, as she was affectionately referred, was a loving and devoted
mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Being the loving and
devoted person that she was, she took on the responsibility of caring
for her older sister, Rose. There were very few times that you would see
one without the other. Their frequent and well-scheduled outings to
WalMart, Kroger and Dollar Tree, was one of their weekly highlights.
She was also a devoted member the Mount Hermon Baptist Church,
where she participated in many ministries over the years. Some of
those included Sunday School, Missionary, Pastor Aide, and Vacation
Bible School. She was also a frequent participant in Wednesday Night
Bible Study. Ms. Mary retired from West Point Stevens after more than
35 years of service.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Homer Evans in 1986--he
preceded her in death. After retirement, she devoted more time towards
church activities and traveling to visit her children in Cleveland and
Atlanta. Ms. Mary was adored by her many nieces, and nephews and
was always shown love and respect as their Aunt Dooley. To all who
have known her, they truly loved and cherished her.
Her survivors include: four children, Mildred Jackson (Kenny)
Williams, Cleveland, OH, Quatina Jackson, Cleveland, OH, Terrance
