Obituary For Mr. Richard Fuller

Fuller, Mr. Richard L., a resident of Cusseta, AL, died Monday, April 9, 2018 in EAMC-Lanier Memorial Hospital, Valley.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Friday, April 13, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. (EST) from Burrell Chapel A.M.E. Church, Opelika, AL. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, April 12, 2018 beginning at 1:00 p.m. and will culminate with Family Hour from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. (all times Eastern) at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

Richard Lewis Fuller was born November 6, 1958 in John A. Andrew Hospital, Tuskegee, Alabama. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined Bethel #1 Baptist Church of Opelika, AL. He was reared in a loving home by his parents, the late Tommy Lee and Thelma Louise Fuller Shealey.

A graduate of Beulah High School, Richard was a kind and generous person. He was outgoing and fun and had a love for country music. Richard loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was very athletic and loved football (War Eagle Daddy!), weight lifting, fishing and NASCAR. These are some favorite “Richard sayings” – “Hold it in the Road”, “It’s hard but it’s fair”, I had a home but I didn’t stay there”, “Can you run me to the store?”, “Come clean now” and “Baby Girl”.

At the age of 22, he was joined in holy matrimony to Harriet Annette Reece on June 27, 1981. Richard Lewis Fuller departed this life on Monday afternoon, April 9, 2018 at EAMC-Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley, AL.

His survivors include: his wife, Harriet Reece Fuller, Cusseta, AL; children, Roderick (Laura) Fuller, Jamestown, NC and Keshia (Cortney) Edwards, Auburn, AL; granddaughter, Sylvie Fuller, Jamestown, NC; siblings, Barry (Bobbie) Fuller, Opelika, AL; Audrey (Randy) Brewer, Conyers, GA, Tony (Melinda) Shealey, Winder, GA, Eddie (Lisa) Shealey, Stone Mountain, GA, Rodney Shealey and Christopher (Andrea) Roberts both of Cusseta, AL, Beverly Gail Roberts, Birmingham, AL and Devoris Gray, Auburn, AL; uncles, Jimmy (Glen) Fuller, San Diego, CA, O Z Fuller, Fayetteville, GA and L C (Georgia) Dawson, Cusseta, AL; aunts, Doris Cloud, Columbus, GA, Polly Bennett, Valdosta, GA, Mary Collins, Opelika, AL, Irene King, Long Beach, CA and Willie Mae Maybell, Union Springs, AL; mother-in-law, Mary Neww Reece, Valley, AL; brother-in-law, Karl Douglas Reece, Valley, AL; and, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
