Reed, Mr. John Lee, Jr., a resident of Lanett, AL, died Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL.

Graveside Services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. (EST) at Pine Hill Cemetery, 22nd Street SW, Lanett, AL with Rev. Dr. Lamar D. Johnson officiating. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

John Lee Reed, Jr., son of Mr. John Lee, Sr. and Mrs. Luevenia Barker Barnes, was born December 7, 1942 in Valley, Alabama. He gave his life to Christ at a young age and joined Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Lanett, Alabama.

John graduated from Rehobeth High School in Fairfax (now Valley), Alabama in 1962. He was a member of the High School basketball team. He loved sports and had a passion for fishing.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, John Lee Reed, Sr. and Luevenia Barker Barnes; brothers, Willie George Barnes and Melvin Barnes; sisters, Martha Mitchell and Tammy Brown; and his daughter, Amanda Reed. Mr. John L. Reed, Jr. departed this life after an extended illness on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.

He leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Wendy (Jerome) Archible, Garner, NC, Sandy Reed, Lanett, AL and Starlett Ross, Atlanta, GA; son, Eldred (Adria) Reed, Fisher, IN; grandchildren, Robtavious (Kimberley) Reed, Gainesville, GA, Shantoria Reed, LaGrange, GA, Tyler Reed (Monet), Collingswood , NJ, Alvontrey James, Lanett, AL, Zuri Reed, Collin Reed and Rylin Reed all of Fisher, IN; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Tony (Betty) Barnes, Lanett, AL; aunt, Ocie Barker, Lanett, AL; sister-in-law, Sheila Barnes, Lanett, AL; and, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services to be announced by Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley.
