Mr. Jessie James Daniels, a resident of McDonough, GA, and former resident of LaFayette, AL, died Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Cambridge Post Acute Care, Snellville, GA.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. (CST) from Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 11322 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, LaFayette, AL 36862, Rev. Michael T. Stiggers, Sr., Pastor, Rev. Calvin Daniels, Eulogist.
Interment will follow in Standing Rock Cemetery, County Road 55, LaFayette, AL. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.
Public Viewing is scheduled for Friday, August 1, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. (EST) at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.
Jessie James Daniels was born on October 10, 1938 in LaFayette, Alabama to the late Mr. Nolan
and Mrs. Mattie Gunn Daniels. He was the sixth child of 12.
He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Standing Rock United
Methodist Church. He was a Deacon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jessie James Daniels married Daisy Lou Carter Daniels and was married for 64 years. In their
union, they were blessed with six children. He loved watching the wrestling and the Atlanta
Braves baseball games.
He was preceded in death by: his wife of 64 years, Daisy Lou Daniels; one daughter, Rose Ethel;
one son, Danny Joe; godson, Shun Gunn; god daughter, Annie Mitchell; seven brothers, Charlie
Frank, John Henry, Bobby, Richard, Joe, Milford, and Jonus; three sisters, Sally Kate, Minnie,
and Mattie. Jessie James Daniels departed this life on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Cambridge
Post-Acute in Snellville, Georgia.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two sons, Randy Daniels, Atlanta, GA and Willie
Daniels (Kimberly) of Stockbridge, GA; two daughters, Mattie Daniels Butler (Roderick),
McDonough, GA and Lisa Daniels Lewis, Atlanta, GA; one brother, Marvin (Ruby), Valley,
AL; three sisters-in-law, Willie Dell Carter, Roanoke, AL, Johnnie (Roger) Jackson, Lanett,
AL, and Chinese Carter, Atlanta, GA; one brother-in-law, Eddie L. Carter, Roanoke, AL; 13
grandchildren, Antonio (Quintaina), Que’Ontavious (Tammy), Shandreka, Likeysa (Stanley),
Marcus, LaQuandra (Sharrod), Shakirah, LaShone (Olmide), Matthew (Shay), Trinea,
Roderick II, Brittney (Alvertis Geddis) and Rodney; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren; two special nieces, Linda Slaughter and Joanne Daniel; and, a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends.
