Mr. Edward, Eddie Lewis, "Nick", "Niki", "Neat", Tucker was born May 3, 1948 to the late John B. and Lois Lucille Wimberly Tucker in Lee County, Alabama.
On Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 5:25 CST, Eddie "Nick" passed away at Tallassee Community Hospital, Tallassee, Alabama in the care of his medical professionals.
Earlier in life, he united with the Bell Baptist Church, Auburn, Alabama.
He was educated in the Lee County School system and graduated from Drake High School. He loved sports and while in high school, he played football.
Eddie was employed at Auburn University, Auburn, AL doing his earlier years.
Niki enjoyed sitting smoking his cigarettes and drinking a "Pepsi" or selected soft drinks. His favorite food was "Chicken", a three piece, 2 thighs and a leg in original with green beans and mashed potatoes and gravy, from KFC. His famous words, "You got fifty cents", or "Give me fifty cents"?
He was a gentle, kind, and helpful person. He always smiled, even though things were not going so good with him, and would give a pat on the shoulder.
Eddie was preceded in death by: a brother, Willie Tucker; two sisters, Mary M. Tucker-Perry and Nettie A. Tucker-Coe.
He leaves to cherish his fondest memories: niece, Carolyn (Byron) Neloms; nephews, Edward Lee Tucker, Auburn, AL, Gavin Lamar Tucker and Maurice Hubert Tucker both of Opelika, AL, Willie Gene (Mary J.) Tucker, Opelika, AL; his extended family/cousins: Angela Wimberly/caretaker, Patricia W. Jones, Rev. Willie Gene (Annie) Wimberly, Valley, AL; and a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great- nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside Services are scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2020 at Burrell Chapel A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Opelika, AL, Rev. Wayne Baker, Pastor, Rev. Dr. George McCulloh, Officiant. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.
