Victoria (Vikki) Rose Flannery was born on September 5, 1972. She passed away on May 27, 2023, after a four-year-long battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Glen and Rosa Castle of Maysville, Georgia.
Vikki enjoyed telling people she was born on Incirlik Air Force Base, Adana, Turkey. Glen was career military and she often referred to herself as a “military brat.” Upon Glen’s retirement in 1981, the family moved to Titusville, Florida. In 1986 they moved to Georgia, where she lived until 2013. After her divorce from the father of her three children, she moved back to Titusville and married her childhood sweetheart, Cory Flannery.
Not long before her cancer diagnosis, Vikki received her license as a real estate agent. She was excelling in that business until her health failed.
Vikki took in stride all that is required to be the mother of a special needs child. She became a “pro” at navigating through all the paperwork and red tape required to obtain equipment, supplies, and health care for her daughter, Julia. She felt God had “chosen” her to be the mother of a special needs child.
Just recently the Flannerys had moved to Georgia to complete the building of a new home. Vikki was looking forward to having a garden, chickens, and honeybees.
Vikki is survived by her husband, Cory Flannery, daughter Lauren Thomas (Jonah), daughter Julia Walker, son Carter Walker, grandson Liam Evans, mother Rosa Castle, several cousins whom she loved dearly and special friends. Vikki will be sorely missed by her loving German Shepherd guard dog, Breena.
A brief memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 10th at 11:00 AM at the Gainesville First Church of the Nazarene at 1301 Otila Dr, Gainesville, GA 30504. Followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at Hurricane Shoal's Park at 1:45 PM at 416 Hurricane Shoals Rd Maysville, GA 30558 Pavilion #5.

My husband Stefan Rice and Cory have been best friends forever and that's how I met Vikki. Vikki had a beautiful smile, awesome personality, and a huge heart. Vikki was a true fighter and strong woman. We truely miss you, fly high angel. We send many prayers to Cory and the family. We love you!
Dearest Vicki,We first saw each other at orientation when we started working at Challenged Child. I was always so impressed by your love and caring way you took care of Julia.I will always remember the weekend we spent at St Simon's Island off the coast of Ga. Lauren was very young and my son Jonathan came too as well as Julia. We had a blast! Lauren had a crush on Jon. Even though we moved away from each other we still kept up with each other via facebook. I have never met such an energetic, and amazing mother as you. So full of life and love, pouring your whole self into everything you did! Be at peace, your work is done! We are ave list you but heaven has gained an Angel to look down and watch over us all!
I met Vikki in middle school and was of my very first friends moving to Florida from Arizona. She helped me fit in and I was forever grateful for her friendship. Titusville is a small town but the connections are for a life time. I remember her telling me of her first cancer diagnosis and I was in awe of her strength and determination. I know she is now flying high with a healed body but she will be forever missed! Prayers for her husband and family as the sort out how to go on without her. She earned her wings!
So greatful you were with us every step of the way with Nathan and I through a very stressful process of selling a home and buying one for the first time ever! I'll never forget how sweet you were and how much love and support you showed us! You never forgot I was a Virgo and would always tag me in those post, which I will miss the most but luckily have for a memory in the future! ❤️
May God give you peace, love and the comfort of loved ones reunited. The pain we feel from your loss is difficult but one day we will see you again. Vikki you lived a life that touched many lives and we are richer from it. God bless and comfort family and friends as we fondly remember your kind soul.
I am so blessed to have known such a beautiful lady and her precious daughters Lauren and Julia. Vikki was my hero. As the mother of a special needs son, I learned how to be strong by watching her as she did her motherly routines with Julia. I love this family and am praying for you all.
Love,
Connie, Kurt and Charles Heckert
