Thomas Taylor Ellington- born September 25, 1938 went to be with Jesus on April 21, 2026. He is survived by his loving wife of over 51 years - Mona McHargue Ellington, son Taylor (Shune) Ellington and daughter Donna (Eddie) Hall, grandchildren Gavin Ellington, Raegan (Jacob) Lane, Hunter (Jessica) Smith, Teila Williams, Carly (Jared) Carter, Crystal (Sid) Brantly and numerous great grandchildren. He is joining his father Pete, mother Mattie Lou, sister and brother-in-law Lou Ellen and Charles Brumbeloe, and daughter Regina Yarbrough.
Tom attended West Point schools and graduated from West Point High School before going to play basketball at Young Harris College and then finishing his degree at Auburn University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. Before earning his degree, he enlisted in the Army and then transferred to the Navy where he served in Vietnam as a medic. He was also a member of the Chuting Stars Navy Exhibition Parachute Team making 187 jumps during his career.
Tom spent the majority of his career in textile and chemical sales working with various companies before he “retired” at 79 and formed a new company with partner Mike Meece. He loved both playing and watching golf, good food, Auburn sports (especially football) and his family and friends. He combined many of those loves to throw amazing tailgate parties during Auburn football games for his family, friends, and customers.
The family wishes to thank Chattahoochee Hospice for the exceptional care over the past year and asks that donations be made to the organization in lieu of flowers.
There will be a graveside service at 1:00 pm EST on Saturday, April 25 at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point, GA.

I extend my sympathy to the entire family during this time of loss. Tom was my supervisor when I worked in the Twister room at Fairfax mill while in high school. He was very good to me, and I always thought a lot of him.
