He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Edith Henderson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gail Sharpe Henderson, his daughter, Meagan and her husband Jason Crosson, his son Todd and his wife Roxanne, and his son Taylor; and his grandchildren, Amanda and her husband Corey Shubert, Hannah and her husband Alex Hall, Garrett Henderson, and Kaydi Crosson; by his great-grandchildren: Hudson, Ila Fair, Ava Leigh Shubert. Ted, affectionally known as Teddy Bear to his family and friends, raised his family on the family land in Lakeview. He graduated Valley High School and went on to get his Associate Degree in Accounting. He worked as Paymaster at Uniroyal in Opelika, for over 30 years, and after retiring worked in accounting at Sims Metal Works, the same company his father, Fred, had worked.
Ted will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather and great grandfather to his family, and a faithful friend. He loved working in his yard, bird-watching, pursuing ancestry research for his family, traveling with his wife all over the United States, Europe, Australia, and beyond.
He had an experience with God in his mid-life that changed his heart according to the Bible verse God spoke to him in Ezekiel 36:26 And I will give you a new heart—I will give you new and right desires—and put a new spirit within you. I will take out your stony heart of sin and give you a new heart of love. (Living Bible). All who knew him celebrates his heart of love that he shared with his family, church, friends, and community.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pine Grove Church, 7235 US-29, Opelika, AL 36804, on Saturday, September 20, with Visitation at 11:00 am, and Worship Service at Noon, Eastern Time. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Pine Grove Church in Ted’s memory.

We are so sorry and prayers to you and family. Debbie
My love and prayers are with all of you now and always.
I will miss that beaming smile & the way he wiggled his shoulders and say "Hey Girl" every time he saw me. Precious Teddy Bear of a man. Loved this man & his precious family.
Ted was such a sweet shining star. Mother loved all her Henderson boys. Many years ago, Ted and Mack too her to see Uncle Durwood and Aunt Lahoma. They spoiled her and took good care of her. She talked about that trip many years.
