It is with reverence that I announce Sergeant Luther "Buddy" Stuthers has received orders for internment to his final duty station, the Alabama National Cemetery at Montevallo.
Buddy's Esprit de Corps -his spirit, his pride and his loyalty embodied the "Leatherneck" in that he was entirely and unwaveringly himself while symbolizing military bearing. Of his virtues was an uncommon valor witnessed by all as he conveyed a resolute firmness and commitment to his God, his Country, and his Corps.
A faithful Father, Brother, Marine and PawPaw; his Military Funeral Honors will commence on December 13th, 2024. We request that his family, friends, and military brothers plan to be in attendance.
On a more personal note, Buddy was my mentor and friend, and he showed me more than any other what it was to have grit while at the same time portraying unwavering kindness and an original old soul's wisdom.
