Obituary For Louise T. Hawkins

Louise T. Hawkins, better known as Ms. Lou, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday March 31, 2017, at EAMC/Lanier Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Hawkins was born Thursday, June 17, 1937, in Newnan, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mary Sumlin and William Thompkins, Sr. She loved her church, Pilgrim Baptist Church and enjoyed spending her time fishing.

She is survived by her husband, Carroll Hawkins; her sons, Ronald C. "Angela" Brown and Bruce T. Brown; three grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters; a sister-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews. Beside her parents, Mrs. Hawkins is preceded in death by her first husband, Bertrand C. Brown; her sisters, Julia Mae Thompkins, Betty Ann Thompkins McGhee and Rosie Lee Merkerson; her brothers Robert William Thompkins and William Thompkins, Jr.

The family will greet friends Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the chapel of Bluffton Funeral Services from 10:00 AM EDT until 11:00 AM EDT, when the funeral service will begin.

Interment will be in Kennedy Memorial Gardens, Ellenwood, Georgia, at 3:00 PM EDT. Dr. Frederick James will officiate.
