Linda Miles Fulcher, age 82, passed away on October 30, 2025. She was born on
December 25, 1942, and was born and raised in Lanett-Valley, Alabama.
Linda loved her family, church, and community deeply. She was actively involved with
Valley Haven School, Habitat for Humanity, the Valleywide Christmas Parade, the
Chamber of Commerce, and local radio stations WRLD and WCJM. She also
contributed her time to the Girl Scouts and countless community projects throughout
the Valley area.
A proud alumna of Lanett High School, Linda was a cheerleader and was honored as
Miss Lanett High School in the 1960s. She loved American movie classics and took
great pride in her work with Sammons Communications, where she was employed for
many years. She was a devoted fan of Auburn football and remained a faithful
supporter through every season. Her enthusiasm for life, positive attitude, and
unwavering encouragement uplifted everyone around her.
Linda is preceded in death by her mother, Exa Miles; father, Wilson Miles; husband,
Ira Fulcher; daughter, Lyn Fulcher; brother, Lamar Miles; sister-in-law Anita Miles;
brother-in-law Burrel Fulcher; and mother- and father-in-law Desma and Harold
Fulcher.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Felicia Lanquist, and husband Jay Lanquist;
grandson William D. Lanquist; son Wilson Lee Fulcher and wife Danielle Fulcher;
granddaughter Whitney Quinton and husband Drew Quinton, with great-grandchildren
Hudson, Charlie, and Jack; grandson Stephen Fulcher and wife Sarah Fulcher, with
great-grandchildren Easton and Ella; and grandson Nicolas Fulcher and wife Grace
Fulcher, with great-grandchild Henry Fulcher. Linda is also survived by Traci Carroll,
cousin Mike Miles, niece Marsha Miles, children Angela, Rudy, and Family,
sister-in-law Julie Fulcher, her children Robert and Misty Fulcher, Thomas Holcomb,
and her extended Miles, Weldon, and Mitchell families, along with many beloved
cousins and friends who will cherish her memory forever.
A visitation is planned for November 28th at 11:00 EST, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 noon.
Both services will be at Valley Point Funeral Home in Lanett.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lanett Methodist Church, where she was a longtime member. Donations can also be made to the Chattahoochee Valley Humane Society, or the Valley Haven Foundation, causes close to Linda's heart and reflective of her lifelong dedication to helping others. She had a phenomenal work ethic and gave her very best in everything she did. The family is deeply thankful to Arbor Springs Nursing Home for their care and compassion shown to our mother.
