Julia Ruth Lindsey Hunt, 74 year old resident of Lawrenceville and former resident of West Point, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Hospice Atlanta.
Services for Mrs. Hunt will begin on Thursday, May 4, 2017, with a visitation at 1:00 PM EST followed by a service at 2:00 PM EST. Both will be held in Bluffton Funeral Services. Dr. Todd Speed will officiate with Jill Joyner, MDiv giving the eulogy.
Interment will be in Marseilles Cemetery.

Mrs. Hunt was born on Monday, April 19, 1943 in West Point, Georgia, the daughter of the late Julia Ruth Murphy Otis Pierce Lindsey, Jr. She grew up attending the First Presbyterian Church of West Point and was a member of the Decatur Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Hunt was a member of the Mission Team and enjoyed the Mission trips, seeing the different cultures of the lands that they served. She spent over thirty years as a teacher with the Dekalb County School System. She was a very giving, selfless person and enjoyed her times at the “Backwaters” of Lake Harden.
Survivors include her daughters: Lindsey Hunt (Stacey) Phillips of Avondale Estates and Stacy Socha of Lawrenceville; her grandchildren: Will Phillips, Pierce Phillips, Jake Socha and Mollie Ann Julia Socha; her son-in-law: Mike Socha; her cousin: Betty Glenn Owens; and her close friends: Leslie Ledyard, Sara Lou Yarbrough, Martha McAngus Belcher, Connie Bryans, Marie Hall and Virginia Goodson.

Ms. Hunt was always smiling and pleasant! I enjoyed the love of Alabama football and talking about games with her! I will miss her and her family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
