James “Lamar” Spraggins, 62 of West Point, Georgia passed away peacefully at his residence on May 20, 2025.
A memorial service will be held at Marseilles Cemetery, West Point, GA on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM ET.
Lamar was born on January 11, 1963 to Robert and Luetta Spraggins.
He will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
He had a deep compassion for his work family at the Milliken Live Oak Plant, where he worked proudly for 30 years, until his declining health forced him to retire in 2020.
Lamar was a huge fan of Nascar and football, always cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his brothers Olin, Barry and Terry and granddaughter Sadie Jennings.
He is survived by his wife Jane, who was the love of his life and caregiver. His Children, Whitney Jennings (Chase), Nick Spraggins, Kerry Harrelson, Zack Spraggins (Hannah), Mallory Harrelson-McDiarmid (Justin), Kayla Harrelson-Beck (Robert). Grandchildren, Jaden Kurian, Levi Kurian, Grace Harrelson, Chloe Harrelson, Emily Harrelson, Grayson Spraggins, Gunner Spraggins, Sesylee Jennings, Bodhi McDiarmid; and his beloved pup Lil’ Richie.
His memory will forever live on within his immediate family, extended family of nieces and great nieces, friends and community.

Jane and family- my heart aches for y'all. May you feel the ever presence of Gods enveloping Love, Peace and comfort on this journey. I know what a BLESSING he was to you, Mallory, Kayla and Kerry. He stepped in and up to live and care for y'all. Him opening yalls home to his in-laws( your mom and dad) so they would have a home in their final years sending Love and Prayers!!
