Obituary For H. Dan Tyson
Mr. H. Dan Tyson of Opelika, Alabama passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama at the age of 68 after a hard fought battle against cancer.
Dan's visitation will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2017, from 2:30 PM EST until 4:00 PM EST at Bluffton Funeral Services, Lanett, Alabama with the funeral services beginning at 4:00. Reverend David Bradshaw, Rusty Jessup and Reverend Wayne Henderson will officiate.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery Lanett, AL.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to First Christian Church of Lanett or Chattahoochee Hospice.
Danny, as he was called by his family, was originally from Lanett, Alabama and lived in West Point, Georgia until recently. He was born in Dallas, Texas on July 18, 1948, the son of the late, Harold Daniel Tyson, Sr. and the late Dell Tyson of Lanett. Dan attended Lanett High School and studied at Southern Union Jr College and Auburn University, always being an avid AU fan. He married Gale Henderson Tyson of Lanett. Dan worked for Spartan Foods as the Southeastern Division Supervisor for 15 years and Sanders Food Service Manager in Panama City, Florida.
Dan and Gale returned to Lanett, Alabama to take over his father's business, Dello Products Co. in 1990.
Danny was loved by his family and friends and highly respected by the business community of the Valley area. He and Gale attended the First Christian Church of Lanett. Dan loved his family especially his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Gale Henderson Tyson. Children; Jeanee T. Snowden (Nicholas) of Auburn, Alabama, Trent Tyson (Katie) of Davis, California. His grandchildren; Kade & Addie Hand, Mollie & Josh Snowden, Blake & Brynn Tyson. His brother, Ronnie Tyson (the late Marjie Tyson) of Marietta, Georgia. Two sisters, Sandra T. Jessup (Rusty) of Riverside, Alabama, Debbie T. Pitts of Valley, Alabama and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bluffton Funeral Services, 1011 North Lanier Avenue, Lanett, Alabama.

Gail and Family, I am so very sorry for the loss of Danny. You may not remember me, Jennifer "Morgan" Chadwick. I went to work(while in High School) for Danny before the Hardee's in Langdale opened and worked for almost 5 years. What wonderful memories for all as we all learned and grew together. I remember you offered to let me borrow your wedding gown. I certainly know what you are and will be going through. I lost Ashley almost 2 years ago (after 40 years of marriage and 44 1/2 years together). But let me reassure you that with Only God's Love and Comfort you will get through this. Every day is a different struggle, but your kids and grandchildren will be a Great support. I left my email address in case you want to contact me.
