Elizabeth Shannon Bledsoe (Shannon), 80, of West Point, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025.
Born June 30, 1945, in Augusta, Georgia, Shannon was the beloved daughter of the late Carlton and Jean Morris. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Morris.
Shannon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband, Roger Bledsoe. Married for 25 years, they shared a bond built on love, laughter, and mutual respect. Together, they created a beautiful life that brought Shannon immense pride and joy.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Angela Broadaway (Keith), Alexander Morrow (Amanda), and Ashley Townsend (Nathan); and her stepchildren: Shane House, Jessica Mallory (Amos), and Courtney Pittman (Clinton). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren and step-grandchildren—Deven Broadaway, Cara Broadaway, Mikayla Mallory, Karlee Mallory, Olivia Morrow, Madeline Morrow, Jasper Pittman, and Preston Townsend—and her great-granddaughter, Lyla Dagen —along with the children and grandchildren of her stepson, Shane.
Professionally, Shannon had a long and respected career as a manager at Sears, Roebuck and Co., where she was admired for her strong work ethic, leadership, and warm personality. In retirement, she found joy in gardening, traveling, antiquing, and spending time with her family. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society and the Wedgwood Garden Club, where she enjoyed fellowship and friendship. Shannon and Roger previously attended First Baptist Church of West Point, where she was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union.
Shannon’s strength, wisdom, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always.
