Born in West Point, Georgia on April 3, 1933, to the late Bob and Lilly Spraggins. Mrs. Alford passed away Saturday, December 14th at her residence.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Alford (Lynn) of West Point and Glenn Alford (Rhonda) of Franklin, Georgia. Additional survivors include sister Elizabeth Bradsher, brother Oscar Spraggins, sister-in-law Luetta Spraggins, grandchildren Blake Alford (Madison), Jessica Alford Walls (Ryan), Adam Alford (Ann Marie), Jody Alford, and Amy Alford, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Alford is preceded in death by her husband, Paige Alford, her parents, brother Twitty Spraggins and sisters Susan Moore and Inez Gable.
She retired from West Point Stevens after 42 years of service. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard until her declining health.
Funeral services for Mrs. Alford will be held Wednesday December 18th at 12:00 PM EST at Reeds Chapel Baptist with a gathering of family and friends at 11:00.
Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.
