He entered into the workforce at Georgia Power. Shortly afterwards, he found his passion and started his career with the City of Newnan Police Department; he was one of the first African Americans to join the Police Department. A Time to be at Peace: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love is appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 7-8.” On Monday, April 28, 2025, he peacefully transitioned to an eternal sleep at his residence.
