Mr. Willie Dean was born April 20, 1935, to the late Ivy and Annie Mae (Ector) Dean. He was the eighth of thirteen children born to this union. Willie was raised in the Lone Oak community of Grantville, GA. He joined St. Paul C.M.E. Church at an early age and was a faithful member until his health declined.
He moved to Atlanta to join his older brother and began working at Camp Chevrolet. He subsequently started his employment with Texaco as a mechanic and then obtained his CDL license to become a truck driver. He was a dedicated employee for over 35 years. He fully retired in 1994 and moved back to Grantville, GA and enjoyed working in his garden, tending to animals, and working on cars.
He was united in holy matrimony with the late Marilyn S. Dean on September 17, 1965, and shared 29 years of building a life together. They were the parents of Georgia, Harriett, Lynette and Cynthia and grandparents to eight grandchildren.
He leaves an enduring legacy and a lifetime of memories to his three daughters - Mrs. Georgia Farley (Richard), Mrs. Lynette D. Willis, Mrs. Cynthia D. Jones (Dwayne); eight grandchildren - Mr. Samuel Farley Jr., Ms. Shiwanda Dean, Mrs. Isha D. Howard (Terrance), Mr. Brandon Turman, Mr. Demetrius Jones (Candias), Ms. Tashaundra Willis, Mrs. Summer English (Demetrius), Ms. Candis Jones.
