Obituary For Rosetta Thompson
We respectfully announce the passing of Mrs. Rosetta Thompson, a longtime resident of Meriwether County Georgia at her home on Friday, February 17, 2023.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church located at 2950 Primrose Road, Greenville, Georgia 30222. Rev. Dr. E. L. Jimerson will officiate and interment will follow in the Campground Cemetery on Ellis Road in Grantville.
Public viewing will be Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
Due to COVID-19 concerns everyone in attendance at the Funeral and the viewing will be asked to wear a mask.
Rosetta Foster Thompson was born March 29, 1936, to the late Ravie and Pallie Mae Foster in Meriwether County. She was preceded in death by her son Hosie Lee Thompson, her parents, her brothers: Edward Lee, Leon, Jessie Lee and sisters: Georgia Bell Swanson and Geraldine (Judy) Foster.
Rosetta (Rose) received her education in the Meriwether County school system. On February 2, 1952, Rose married the love of her life Hosiah Thompson Sr. For many years she worked in the textile industry. Some of her hobbies were: sewing, decorating, gardening, cooking, traveling and visiting family and friends. HER MOTTO: you can fix anything with a butter knife.
At an early age, Rose became a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she loved to praise and worship the Lord and later joined the senior choir where she was an active member until her health declined. She also attended White Plains United Methodist Church.
Rosetta will be greatly missed by and leaves to cherish so many wonderful memories: her devoted husband, Hosiah Thompson, Sr. and her children Patricia Ann (LeRoy) Parks, Marvin (Lynn) Snelling, Joanne Parks, Sharon (Bobby) Bussey, Sylvia Arnold, Hosiah Thompson Jr., Berlinda McIntyre and Angelia (Gerald) Irving; her brothers: Willie Frank (Thelma) and James Wesley Foster and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends and many children she loved as her own.
