Sherry R Beasley was born on September 10 1969 to the union of the late Zedker L and
Grace Kidd Beasley in Troup County Georgia. She was the oldest of three children.
Sherry had a beautiful spirit that illuminated any room she entered. Sherry’s fascination
with music began at an early age. Over the years she would learn to play both the piano
and saxophone. Sherry moved with her family to Chattanooga Tennessee when she was
in the sixth grade. She graduated from Brainerd High School where she was a member of
the marching band and participant in several clubs and extracurricular activities. She
attended and graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta Georgia with a degree in
Biology. Sherry began her career with the State of Georgia in the year 2000 where she
remained for 23 years and rose to the rank of Environmental Health Specialist IV.
At a young age, Sherry accepted Christ as her personal Savior. She studied, learned, and
exemplified God’s Holy word in her daily walk. She is a faithful member of St Mary
United Methodist Church. Sherry loved cooking, baking, and traveling but even more
important Sherry loved God and his people. She was always willing to help anyone in
need and never asked for anything in return. She was a true example of the greatest and
second greatest commandments which state “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all
thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest
commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
(Matthew 22:37) She never met a stranger and was kind to everyone she met. She will be
truly missed by many.
Sherry accepted her call into the ministry in 2014. She returned to school to deepen her
understanding of God’s holy word and how to serve his people. She is currently the
pastor of Wadley Chapel United Methodist Church in Hogansville Ga
