Obituary For Oliver Snelling Jr.
We respectfully announce the passing of Mr. Oliver Snelling Jr., age 74, of Greenville, Georgia on Friday, May 29, 2020 at his residence.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2020 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church Cemetery located at 1236 Jarrell Road in Greenville, Georgia. Bishop Daniel Hardway will officiate.
Public viewing will be held Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be a limited number of people at the Graveside Service and during the Public viewing only 3 people at one time in the Funeral Home with social distancing of 6 feet. PLEASE WEAR MASK.
Oliver SnellingJr. (Lil Bro) was born on January 24, 1946 to the late Oliver Snelling and Georgia Lee Snelling in Greenville Georgia. He entered into his heavenly rest on May 29, 2020.
Oliver attended school in Meriwether County. He retired from Bonnell in Newnan, Georgia after 42 years of dedicated service.
Oliver attended Oak Ridge CME Church faithfully until his health failed. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and family.
4 sons, Shaun Lockhart, Johnny Lockhart, Willie Lockhart, Oliver Roberts, Sister Ella Mae Thrash, brother Arvis Lee Snelling, Rose Lee Snelling, all preceded him in death.
Oliver leaves to cherish his memory and to celebrate his life a loving and devoted wife Evelyn Snelling, 2 daughters Cathy (Patrick) Williams,Louella(Willie)Tenney of Greenville GA 5 sons Michael Snelling, Oliver Snelling both of LaGrange GA., Oliver Lee (Latasha) Snelling, Bobby (Shantel) Lockhart, Lithonia, Georgia Darren (LaSonya) Snelling of Greenville, GA. He has 37 Grandchildren and 24 Great grand- children, 3 Sisters, Beatrice (Simon) Reeves Earlene (John) Harris, Sara Snelling, 3 Brothers, James R. Snelling, Willie (Joann) Snelling EC Snelling, Mae Lee Snelling, 8 brother in law 5 sister in laws and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, and other loving relatives and friends. A very special thanks to Wynese Harris for all your dedicated time, love and care for our dad during his last days.
