We regretfully announce the passing of Mr. Moses Eugene βButchβ Philpot, age 75, of LaGrange, Georgia on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Piedmont Atlanta Healthcare.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 8, 2025 at St. Mary United Methodist Church located at 100 Pine Street in Hogansville, Georgia.
Rev. Elaine Gilbert, Pastor and Rev. Reginald Sims, Eulogist.
Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
Arrangements entrusted to Thrash and Sons Funeral Home.

We only spent time with Moses a few times. That was at the lake in Augusta with Adam and Melissa. We just loved him and are so happy that he and Joan found each other. He was a character and sure loved dominoes! He was very thoughtful also, calling when one of us was sick. We were sad that we couldn't call him this time when he was so sick but we sure prayed for him. Our condolences to all the family. He was such a gentle man who we were blessed to know.

It had been a while since I had seen Cuz, but the smile on his face, the laughter in his voice, and the loudness of his speech was enough to let one know his presence was present! He would come by the house and stay for hours and he truly brought life with him!π "Butch", you will truly be missed! My condolences to the family! May God be with you during this journey!
