We regretfully announce the passing of Mrs. Martha Hopson Ward, age 75, of Meriwether County on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at True Gospel Deliverance Church Cemetery located at 5711 Georgia Highway 100 in Hogansville.
Pastor Robert Hopson (Brother) will officiate.
Born April 10, 1950 to the late Mr. Ransby and Doris Mae Hopson Sr, Martha was uniquely introverted in her own special way. After working many years in textile and hospitality, she retired and lived a quiet, peaceable life in the comfort of her home. She had a great since of humor and a witty world view that often stunned many who engaged in conversation with her. To be in her company was a treat. Although reserved, she was not shy, but rather peculiar, observant, and care free.
She was preceded in death by her brother Ransby Hopson Jr., sister Mary Alice Jackson, and sister Linda Jean Towns. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brothers Pastor Robert Hopson, Morris Hopson, Nelson Hopson, Ronnie (Catherine) Hopson, brother in laws, and a host of nieces, great nieces great great nieces, nephews, great nephews, great great nephews, friends and acquaintances.
In our hearts she will always be, cherished and loved in our memory.
The family of Mrs. Martha Ward would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, acts of kindness and prayers during this time.
Arrangements entrusted to Thrash and Sons Funeral Home.
