We respectfully announce the passing of Mrs. Mae Belle Morgan of Hogansville, Georgia on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Wadley Chapel United Methodist Church located at 2515 Coweta-Heard Road in Corinth, Georgia. Rev. Sherry Beasley, Pastor and Rev. James Woods, Eulogist.
Public viewing will be held Saturday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Due to COVID-19 concerns everyone in attendance at the Graveside and the viewing must wear a mask and social distancing is encouraged.
Ms. Mae Belle Smith Morgan was born on November 17, 1941 to the late Jimmy L. Smith and the late Josephine Smith in Coweta County, Ga. After a life filled with love, sharing and caring she bowed to the will of the Lord on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.
Mae Belle, Belle as she was more affectionately known, professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Wadley Chapel United Methodist Church. Belle was devoted to her family and freely opened her home and heart to those around her.
She was proceeded in death by a son, Derek Ervin Smith and a daughter, Gabriel Pasha. Also, proceeding her in death were her brothers: Jimmy Lee Smith Jr., Robert Lee Marchman, Thomas Edward Marchman and Alfred Smith ~ Sisters: Amidah Rashad, Betty Ann Cameron and Ruth Mack.
Her Life will be forever cherished by six (6) sons: Gary (Sylvia) Smith, LaGrange GA, Donald Hinton, Lutherville, GA, Gregory Smith (Meta), Lagrange, GA, Thad (Angela) Blackmon, Maryville, TN, Reggie Blackmon (Susan Gouthro) Hogansville, GA, Tray Tucker Hogansville, GA, Milton Mapp Atlanta, GA. ~ One (1) daughter Carolyn (Michael) Michael Davis ~ a special nephew Anthony (Ronita) Russell Conway, AR and her best friend Clara M. Dawson, LaGrange, GA.
She will also be fondly remembered by the three (3) brothers: Charlie (Sarah) Brown, Winston-Salem, NC, Charles (Judy) Cameron, Atlanta GA and Allen (Rebecca) Smith, Ringgold GA. ~ Six (6) Sisters: Maggie Spearman, Greenville, GA, Martha (James) Griffin, Hogansville GA, Bobbie Jean, Strickland Hogansville, GA, Katie (Norman) Parker, Atlanta GA, Patricia (Derrick) Johnson, Jonesboro, GA, and Angela Smith (Billy Priest), Atlanta, GA Those that will carry on her linage are Twenty-five (25) grandchildren, Thirty-five (35) great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Her memory will live on through an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friend.
