Obituary For James Howard McLaughlin
We regretfully announce the passing of Mr. James Howard McLaughlin, age 78, of Lithonia, Georgia on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Emory Hillandale Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Mount Perria Baptist Church located on Mobley Bridge Road in Hogansville, Georgia.
Pastor Dwight Hardaway will officiate and Interment will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery #2 on Cousins Road in Greenville.
Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
Arrangements entrusted to Thrash and Sons Funeral Home.

I would like to express our deepest sympathy and sincere prayers to the McLaughlin Family. Deacon McLaughlin supported the late Rev. G. A. Black and Sister Lillian Black for many years during their time of service at Mt. Perria Baptist Church. His kindness, friendship and relentless service still live on deeply in our hearts. May the good Lord award him graciously for his remarkable service and may He hold the family close during this time.
My condolences and prayers to James Howard's sister Lillian, his entire family and friends. I've known him & Lillian since childhood because we all grew up in Hogansville. Never once had I ever seen him without him flashing that captivating, beautiful smile! Yo the family, I pray that God will provide both the strength and comfort that's needed right now and in the upcoming days. May you peacefully rest in Heaven, James Howard.

Chairman McLaughlin has led this church for many years through all of the ups and downs and many challenges that it has faced. He has been a stalwart and faithful soldier in God's army. As the apostle Paul said " he fought a good fight and he has finished his course." Now laid up for him is the crown of righteousness.
