Mrs. Annie “Frances” Thompson Woodard was the second child born to the late Wilbur & Annie Mae Thompson, Sr., she entered eternal rest on January 8, 2024.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at White Plains United Methodist Church in the St. Marks Community.
Rev. Renee Clark, Pastor and Rev. Frank Dean Jr., Eulogist. Interment will follow the Olive Branch Cemetery #2.
Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
Frances, began her earthly journey on January 9,1927 in St. Marks Community. She received her education at St. Mark Primary School. Her spiritual journey began at an early where she joined White Plains United Methodist Church, she later was a faithful member of Plainview Community Church where she served as an usher and worked on several other auxiliaries.
On July 15, 1945, she united in holy matrimony to Zachary Woodard, Sr. for 55 years until his death in 2000. Frances was the matriarch of the Thompson & Woodard family and a historian of our family roots. She retired from Royal Elaine Nursing Home and was a care giver to the Smith family for several years. She was an avid gardener, baker, cook, and seamstress. She was known for making the best Brunswick Stew.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Zachary Woodard, Sr., father, Wilbur Thompson, Sr.; mother, Annie Mae Dean Thompson; daughters; Annie “Christine” Woodard Shy, Darnell Cameron, & Gail Woodard, grandsons; Raemond Daniel & Dexter Woodard; brothers: Bobby Lee Thompson, Oliver Thompson, Wilbur Thomson, Jr., & Clifford Thompson; sisters: Mary Hill Dean, Ambra Swanson, Annette Partridge, & Carrie Combs.
She leaves to cherish her memories: loving children: Eddie (Terryl) Woodard, Sr., Gwendolyn Hall, Bernice (Gary) Newton, & Zachary (Jennifer) Woodard, Jr., Son-in-Law: Rev. Oliver Cameron. Grandchildren: Katress (Kelvin) McBride, Marcus Woodard, Ytivia Woodard, Daryl (Alicia) Newton, Kelvin Cameron, Garrick Woodard, Trevette Woodard, Timothy Woodard, Marco Woodard, Isaac (Shylonda) Cameron, Derica Newton, Quentin Hall, Eddie Woodard, Jr., Ja’Netta Woodard, Zachary Woodard, III., Iris (Cedric) Kirksey, LaQuentis Woodard, Micko Woodard, & Kiona Cameron. Brother: Leon (Alicestine) Thompson. Brother-in-Law: Will Partridge. Sister-in-Law: Bettye Thompson. 44 Great-grandchildren, 34 great-great grandchildren, special nephew Gregory (Lisa) Woodard, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends..

To the Thompson and Woodward family may God bless you because she was a wonderful lady and she knew how to cook Brunswick stew. But anyway she has not gone far she is with God because he loved her best. But she still is angel flying high and watching over all of you even though she not here on earth but her spirit will be with y'all forever because she really loved y'all especially my girl Janetta and her mom gail.
