We respectfully announce the passing of Mr. Ernest “Pete” Cosby, age 57, of Hogansville, Georgia on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at his home.
Graveside Services for Mr. Ernest “Pete” Cosby will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at St. Paul AME Church Cemetery located on West Boyd Road in Hogansville. Rev. David Simmons will officiate.
Public viewing will be held Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
Due to COVID-19 concerns everyone in attendance at the viewing and the Graveside must wear a mask and social distancing is encouraged.
Mr. Ernest James Cosby, also known as “Pete” was born on August 14, 1965 in Carrollton, Georgia. As the only son to Ms. Clayzell Cosby and Wesely Robertson. He departed his life on October 9, 2022.
Pete was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, nephew and a great friend to many. He enjoyed fishing, music, cooking, spending time with family and friends and spreading the word of God.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Clayzell Cosby Gates and Father, Wesely Robertson; Grandmother, Floyd White Cosby and Granddad, Eli Cosby; Step Grandmother, Lily Mae Hurston.
He leaves to cherish his wife Ms. Pamela Cosby; his three children Jermaine (Petrina) Cosby, Chrystal Willis (Perry) and Marquis Cosby; five precious grandchildren, Jeriyah Cosby, Malachi Cosby, Aulani Cosby, Ka’silah Cosby, Hayden Perry; one sister Marenda Elder; one brother-in- law Gary Elder; and nieces and nephews; precious aunties, Vera Thurman, Patricia Rodger (Moore), Sthris (Clfford) Boykin, Donna (Bennie) Boykin and Mary Brewer all from Carrollton, Georgia; a host of family, cousins and friends.
