We respectfully announce the passing of Ms. Curtis Felicia Griggs, age 66, of the St. Marks Community in Meriwether County on Saturday, December 30, 2017.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM at White Plains United Methodist Church in the St. Marks Community. Rev. Carl Von Epps, Pastor and Pastor Yolanda Colton, Eulogist.
Interment will follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery #2.
Curtis Felecia Griggs was born January 25, 1951 to the late Curtis Griggs and Mary Hall Griggs in Meriwether County. Shirley Gunnells- Ross (sister) preceded her in death. She departed her life Saturday morning, December 30, 2017 at her home.
Felecia was reared in a Christian home and joined the White Plain United Methodist Church at an early age. She worked faithfully and served in many capacities: Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Financial Secretary, Treasurer of the United Methodist Women for 27 years, worked on the Publicity Committee for the United Methodist Women of the LaGrange District for four years, worked with the United Methodist Youth LaGrange District, Hospitality Committee and a life long member of the Senior Choir. She also was the Griggs Family Reunion Treasurer for several years.
She received her early education at Meriwether County School System graduating in 1969 from Greenville Consolidated High School. Felecia continued her education at Fort Valley State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in 1973. Later Felecia received her Masters in Early Childhood Education from West Georgia College. She taught school in Meriwether County for 32 years.
Felecia leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Annie Griggs and Mattie Lett; one brother, Velma Griggs (Ollie); one aunt, Oretha Burson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
