Obituary For Randy Austin Yates
Mr. Randy Austin Yates, age 64, of Roopville passed away Monday January 29, 2018.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday February 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home. The family will accept guests from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service.
Mr. Yates was born August 22, 1953 in Carrollton to Novis Louise Daniel Smith and the late Durell Austin Yates. He was a Christian by faith.
Prior to his failing health he worked as an office clerk for Yellow Freight Lines.
He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
He enjoyed gardening and grew vegetables and flowers. He was especially proud of his roses.
He liked to read, listen to music and go dancing. Talent shows were some of his favorite TV programs. He was also a science fiction fan and loved to watch Star Trek.
Survivors include: his wife, Muriel Yates of Roopville; his mother, Novis Smith of Roopville; two sons: Jonathan Yates of Roopville and Caleb Yates (Jenny) of Newnan; four grandchildren: Piper, Lilly, Kayleigh and Jasmine Yates; one brother, Chris Yates; three step-sisters; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Add A CondolenceGreat Friend Shared by Ann Emory on 01/31/2018 My late sister and I met Randy at TC Rose in Carrollton, several years ago. I got up the nerve to ask him to dance with me and to my surprise he did. After a while, we became really good friends and my usual dance partner. He was a great dancer, although a little shy. He became a part of our family and was loved like a brother by my sister and I. He will be sorely missed by me, but I know he and my sister Vickie are enjoying each others company in Heaven.
