Mrs. Awbrey was born December 19, 1923 in Heard County to the late William Eddie Denney and Glimmer Barker Denney. She was a faithful member of Glenloch Baptist Church until her health failed her. It gave her great joy to hear her grandson, Neil, preach each Sunday.

She worked for many years at Baby Cloze of Franklin where she was a seamstress.
Family was at the center of her life. She loved to cook Sunday dinner each week. Having her children and grandchildren over for a visit gave her great joy.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing bingo and board games. She was an active member of the Heard County Pilot Club. She also looked forward to reading the News and Banner each week.
She loved to travel, and had the opportunity to go on a tour of Europe some years ago. In previous years, she enjoyed going on trips with the Heard County Senior Center and Franklin First Baptist Church. She had wonderful memories of the many trips she took with some of her best friends from Heard County.

Losing a loved one in death can be such a difficult time but knowing that the Bible offers hope for those we have lost in death can bring a measure of comfort. At John 5:28, 29 when speaking of the resurrection Jesus stated, "The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out..." May you rejoice in this most precious hope."

Even Jesus wept when Lazarus died (John 11:35) and it pains our Creator, too. Our loving Heavenly Father did not purpose his human family to grow old and die but purpose us to live and enjoy life. It is still his purpose (Psalms 37:11, 29). He calls death an enemy that will be removed forever__ (1 Corinthians 15:26 “The last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing”; Isaiah 25:8). He promised to awaken our love ones in the memorial tombs from asleep in death__ Hosea 13:14 “From the power of the Grave I will redeem them; From death I will recover them.” then he will reverse the aging process__ Job 33:24,25 “Let his flesh become fresher than in youth; Let him return to the days of his youthful vigor.” What a delight it will be to see them again to enjoy life as our Creator purposed! Allow these words to keep comforting all of you."
