Progressive Funeral Home respectfully announces the passing of Mrs. Willie Pearl Britt age 78 of Columbus, GA on December 4, 2020.
Willie Pearl Britt was born on March 4, 1942 to the late Mr. John and Nellie Jackson in Tennille, Georgia.
She was married to MSG. (Ret.) John Britt for 58 years. Their union was blessed with two children. Mrs. Britt was an active member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia where she served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Willie Pearl began her early education in the Washington County Public School System and later obtained her nursing degree in New Jersey. She retired from St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia after working as a Licensed Practical Nurse for nearly 25 years. Mrs. Britt was preceded in death by her brothers, Willie Bouyer and John Jackson as well as one sister, Hattie Sadler. Willie Pearl leaves to cherish her memories; her husband, Mr. John L. Britt; two sons, John D. Britt (Shari) and Jeffrey A. Britt (Evelyn); two brothers, Eugene Jackson (Diane), and Lee Jackson (Renee); one sister, Annie Barnes (Charlie); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family of the late Mrs. Willie Pearl Britt will have a public visitation on Friday, December 11, 2020 beginning at 2 P.M. and ending at 4 P.M. The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Willie Pearl will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11 A.M. at the gravesite in Green Acres Cemetery. The Staff of Progressive Funeral Home is honored to support the family with End of Life Services.
