Retired SFC Willie B. Granville, Sr., affectionately known as the “Peanut Man,” passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the age of 91. He was born on July 12, 1934, in Bonaire, Georgia, to the late General Granville, Sr., and Hattie Mae Dumas Granville.
A proud veteran, Retired SFC Granville honorably served his country and later continued his dedication through his work at the motor pool on Fort Benning, Georgia. He was well known and loved in the community, earning the nickname “Peanut Man” for selling peanuts on post to soldiers and federal workers.
A Homegoing Celebration honoring his life and legacy will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Pinehurst Baptist Church, followed by interment at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
Visitation will take place on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Progressive Funeral Home.
