My sincere condolences to the Bailey Family. I truly enjoyed "Beatle" as a Co-Worker and Friend. We shared many memories at Fire Station 12. While working with "Beatle", we discovered that we had a lot more in common than we realized. He sang Gospel and so did my Mother, Malinda "Sumbry" Seldon, they actually knew each other, which was a delight. He also knew my wife's Uncle, Rev. Otis Weaver because they sang together for a while, small world❤️.... Thanks for the Memories "Beatle" ......Rest Well🙏🏿
To the Bailey Family. Carolyn I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I know that this is probably one of the hardest things that you have ever had to go through. But with God and prayer you will find comfort. I will keep you and your family in my prayers 🙏. Shirley Ficklin
In 2004, I was assigned to Pastor St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Columbus Ga. I was blessed to serve the congregation for 13 years as pastor. One of the persons who served as a steward and a lead tenor in the combined choir and male choir was Ulysses Bailey. Bro. Bailey was a son, a brother, a husband, father, and grandfather. He was also a steward, a veteran, of Viet-Nam, a firefighter, a gospel messenger, a lead singer, and an accomplished tenor! I have been inspired by many things throughout life but one thing that inspired me about Bro. Bailey was that he was a Marine who kept his promise. He told me of how in the thick of the Viet-Nam Jungle he held out his hand in front of himself and the darkness was so black that he couldn't see it in front of him. He asked God, if he would just let him get home from that situation, he would give praise to him for the rest of his life. And That He Did! Many a Tuesday night, Bro. Bailey would call and show up to lead rehearsals of the St. Paul Male Choir in the Church Sanctuary to make sure the men knew their parts before the musician met with them on Thursday night for rehearsal with accompaniment. He took pains to test the microphones and keep them in top working order. During Christmas season he would work to insure that all the men in the Columbus, Phenix City area worked to provide a combined Male Chorus for the area to keep the cities in the Christmas Holiday Spirit! He called me once to check on me since I've been reassigned to two other churches since serving the St. Paul Congregation. I am grateful for his call, but mostly I am grateful to God for his service, his witness, his testimony, and his singing to the glory of God! A few days ago Bro. Bailey was called "home" to be with God. I believe Bro. Bailey is already calling choir rehearsals around God's Eternal Throne of Grace, making sure that all of God's messengers (Angels) are ready to inform the people of God how to cross their "Jordan Rivers", knowing that the "Man over the River" on the bridge of time unto eternity, Jesus is a friend of mine! Rest in thy Saviors Joy, Bro. Bailey. Good Job. Well Done! We'll see you when we get there! Rev. & Mrs. James Avery Alexander, Sr. and the Brown's Chapel Family, Homerville, Ga.
My sincere condolences to Carolyn and the family. Mr. B sat next to me in Dialysis, and we made the best of the time that we spent in those chairs. We sang, laughed and talked about the goodness of God. Rest well, my friend rest well I'm really going to miss you.🕊️
My sincere condolences to the family. Classmate Spencer high school 1966 very nice person haven't seen in years. God bless his soul. Right
My sincerest condolences to the Bailey family. I sang with "Tit" in the choir at St. Paul, and we sang duets for a few weddings. He was a delightful person, with a golden voice! He's probably singing tenor in the Heavenly Choir. Tit will be missed by all who knew him. He used to like to hear me sing, "All Night and All Day The Angels Keep Watching Over Me." Rest well, Tit. We will see you again on the other side. Save me a seat in the soprano section. 🕊️
Bailey was a wonderful, talented, dear, man. He was a help and an inspiration to all people. Our prayers go out to his family, he will be missed very much. Randy and Sally Rowe
