Obituary For Timothy Crumbley
Timothy A. “Tim” Crumbley was born September 15, 1963 to the union of late Charles Crumbley, Sr. and the late Willa Hodo Crumbley in Winder, GA; the heartbeat of Barrow County. Tim received his early education in the Barrow County school system where he became lauded for his superb athletic feats in both basketball and track and field. He continued to be a standout on the court, earning the nickname “Big O”, after NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson, and on the track as he entered high school at Winder-Barrow High; culminating with graduation in 1981.
Tim earned several scholarship offers in basketball; choosing to accept the offer to play at Georgia Southwestern College (now Georgia Southwestern University) in Americus, GA. While at Georgia Southwestern, Tim continued to excel in basketball, was initiated into Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated through the Delta Delta Delta (Tri – Delta) Chapter, the Charter Line of the chapter, in Spring 1985, and he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business.
After college, Tim worked in several career fields; including production, retail, management and as an officer with the Muscogee County Police department before realizing his passion and purpose for assisting at risk youth. His passion and purpose drove Tim to return to school to earn his Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling while working for The Georgia Department of Family and Children Services. Wanting to have more of a positive impact on the lives of youth, Tim stepped out on faith and launched The Kenneth B. Walker Residential Home for Boys, which he named after his friend and fraternity brother tragically killed by police, in 2003. Up until the time of his passing, Tim remained hands on with the youth in the group home; continuing to serve as its Chief Executive Officer as KBW has been responsible for positively impacting the lives of nearly 1000 boys placed in its care via The Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and The Department of Family and Children Services (DFACS).
In addition to his parents, Tim was predeceased by a son Javon and brothers: Charles Crumbley, Jr. and Jeffrey Crumbley, Sr.
On Thursday January 14th, Tim, himself, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life. He leaves to cherish his memory three aunts: Betty Ruth Teasley of Statham, GA, Willie Lee Crumbsy of Winder, GA, and Barbara Ann Everhart (Jack) of Athens, GA; an uncle: Herman Hodo (Sandra) of Bethlehem, GA; cousins who were raised as siblings: DaLencia Lawrence of Oglethorpe, GA, and Tracy Hodo of Monroe, GA; two nephews: Jeffrey Crumbley, Jr. and Michael Crumbley of Winder, GA; a niece: Nionna Crumbley of Winder, GA; a close cousin, Valeria Crumbsy of Winder, GA.
He also leaves a devoted companion, Paris Denise Brown; a stepdaughter by a previous marriage, Tyeshia N. Barker (Andre); granddaughter and apple of is eye, Iyani N. Little; a grandson, his heart and soul, Elijah “Pork Chop” Little; a host of cousins, other relatives fraternity brothers and lifelong friends.
The Homegoing Celebration will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. Graveside at Green Acres Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 beginning at 3:00 P.M. and ending at 6:00 P.M. at Progressive.

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Tim Crumbley. I began working as an advocate for children in foster care just before the covid pandemic reached Georgia. Due to the pandemic, Mr. Crumbley and I never had the chance to meet in-person, and yet he still made a profound impact on my life. Part of my job is to gather information on the wellbeing of children in our county who are in foster care. I could always tell by our conversations that Mr. Crumbley was dedicated to the lives of each young man placed at KBW. Mr. Crumbley had a big heart for older youth, who are often overlooked as much as anyone within the foster care system. I am thankful for the life of Mr. Crumbley, for the structure he provided to the young men at KBW, and for the impact he made on us all. I can tell that Mr. Crumbley was very loved; deservingly so. May God comfort all who have been affected by his passing.
Tim you will truly be missed. Our time at GSW was awesome 😎. We had much fun while understanding the importance of completing our education. Your infectious laugh, kind heart, positive attitude and commitment to everything you were involved with is commendable. You have completed this journey on earth and what a job well done with KBW group homes. You made a impact on everyone who knew you. I'm forever grateful that our paths have crossed. You're forever in my heart. My heart aches but i know God has a new project for you to complete. 🥲SIP my friend until we meet again.

I miss you so much words can't explain you was my foster dad even when I left the group home we still kept in touch ever since I can't believe you really gone I'd thought it was a dream I thought they was lieing but to see yo obituary it hitting me hard I miss you and I love you always and forever

Mr Crumbley gave me a chance almost 20 years ago with KBW. He allowed me to be a part of his vision and his growth. He will truly be missed. He has changed the lives of so many people that have crossed his path. When you were down, he always managed to make you laugh. He knew I could not stand when people mispronounced my last name, but he will always say "Mahoney what you did today?" Or "Mahoney take care of this for me." The last thing he said to me was continue my legacy, continue to grow, take care of the business and make me and Kenny proud. And that is what I am going to do. Rest in Heaven Mr Crumbley. My prayers are with him, his family, the KBW family, the Omega Family and all those who knew what an awesome person he is and will forever be.

I was very saddened to hear about the passing of my dear friend Tim Crumbley. We worked together in the same squad as police officers with the Columbus Police Department. I remember just like it was yesterday that he backed me up on a domestic call where the male subject attempted to stab me with a kitchen knife and cut open my uniform shirt that it took him and several officers to get me off the suspect. Thanks for my bullet proof vest and his assistance. I will never forget what you did. Thank you until we meet again my brother. My God bless you and your family.
I currently work for KBW and he always took care and looked after his staff.He was an honest and caring person who saw hope and potential in people. You will truly be missed!!
