Progressive Funeral Home respectfully announces the passing of Solomon Williams age 62 of Columbus on December 24, 2020.
Solomon Williams was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his brother Melvin E. Hudson, his father the late Rev. Henry Williams and surviving mother, Zadie "Pearl" Williams. Solomon was a graduate of Kendrick High School, class of 1976 and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He remained married to his High School sweetheart, Charlotte Flournoy, for 41 years.
Although Solomon's own health was failing, he devoted his time to helping take care of his mother. Solomon was best known to be a devoted & loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was his family's Superman and will be loved and missed by many.
The Homegoing Service for Mr. Williams will be held Thursday, December 31, 2020 beginning at 12:30 P.M., under the pavilion at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Reverend J.H. Flakes, III will be the officiant. There will also be a visitation for him on Wednesday beginning at 1 P.M. and ending at 3 P.M. at Progressive. The Staff of Progressive Funeral Home is honored to support the family with End of Life Services.
