Mr. Scott Henry Wise passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at the age 72. He was born on August 15, 1949 in Steubenville, OH.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Wise will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Allen Temple AME Church with interment at Green Acres Cemetery.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19, from 1 to 4 PM.
Mr. Scott Henry Wise was born to the union of Charles Eugene Wise, Sr. and Freddie Jean Johnson Wise Harrell on August 15, 1949 in Steubenville, Ohio. He departed this earthly life for life eternal on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at his home. He was 72 years of age.
Mr. Wise confessed Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was a member of St. John AME Church for forty-five plus years. A devout and active member, he served in many areas to include: Trustee Protem, Sons of Allen, Lay Organization and Choir member.
He met, fell in love and became a partner in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Linda M. Wise. Their union was blessed with a son, Justin.
Mr. Wise was a true family man who cherished the time spent with his loved ones. A very active member of the community, he cared for others and their well being. He showed compassion, respect and understanding to everyone regardless of their situation. He never met a stranger and was often called “Uncle Scott” by many of the youth. He was seen as a father figure to those who did not have one in their home. He will be truly missed.
He was a retired executive from Aflac following many years of dedicated service. Among many of his major accomplishments, he was the first African American to serve on the Columbus Airport Commission.
In his leisure, Mr. Wise enjoyed playing golf and watching football. His favorite teams were the Atlanta Falcons, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles E. (Geno) Wise, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory include: his loving and devoted wife of fifty (50) years, Linda M. Wise; a son, Justin Charles Wise (Akavia); grandchildren, Jaila Marie Wise and Jade M. Wise; nieces and nephews, Louis J. Breaux (Lisa), Chad Scott Wise (Nalo) Richard Hines (Deanna), Ronnie Hines (Tina), Randy Hines (Sharon), Alisa Breaux Smith (David), Linda M. Breaux Mills (Kendall) and Shaneice Wise Spencer (Stafford); loving sisters-in-law, Beatrice Breaux and Jacquelyn M. Wise; a sister-in-love, Marilyn Whitehurst; a nephew-in-love, Charles Gandy, Jr. (Erica); a host of other relatives and friends.
To the family of Mr. Scott Wise, our prayers goes out to you all. He was a good man from the time that i gt to knon him at St.John AME.
