Mrs. Sandra Faye Chester Kendrick
Mrs. Sandra "Sand" Kendrick, 72, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Piedmont Northside Hospital.
Sandra was born on February 27, 1949 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Ernest and Melissa Hunter Chester. She graduated with the class of 1967 from Carver High School. She was employed by Southern Bell as an operator and retired after 34 years of service from Keebler (Sunshine Biscuits).
She was a faithful member of St. James CME Church for over 60 years where she was active in the Senior Citizens Ministry and St. James Outreach Ministry.
Other than her parents, awaiting in Heaven on Tuesday were her sister, Ernestine (Robert) Mays, brothers, Jack Chester, Alfred Chester, David (Shirley) Chester, John H. (Carrie) Chester, and Winfred Chester.
Sandra's memories will forever be etched in the hearts of her loving and devoted husband CSM (Ret.) William J. Kendrick, Sr., the apple of her eye, her daughter, Tywanna Chester (Cedric) Buckner, two loving sons, William J. Kendrick, II and Maurice Q. Kendrick, two granddaughters, Willow and Mauria Kendrick, four sisters, Carolyn Thornton, Janice Arrington, Margaret Fuller, Vanessa (James) Harris, three sisters-in-law, Barbara Chester, Alisa Chester, and Chae Suk Chester, granddog, Chloe, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Progressive Funeral Home Chapel followed by an interment at Green Acres Cemetery, Rev. Lavisha S. Williams will officiate services.
