We Celebrate the Homegoing of Gods most precious and loving creation, Mrs. Roberta Wilson. She passed away Friday at Piedmont Midtown Hospital at the age of 88.
Born in Birmingham, AL, Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late Fred and Fannie Graham. She was a graduate of Westfield High School and furthered studied at Miles College. She was employed with AAFES at Ft. Benning, GA, retiring after 25 years of service. A strong and powerful Women of Christ, she served as First Lady at Little Mount Olive Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Columbus Wilson; a granddaughter, Fredaricka Harris, and six siblings.
Survivors include: her children, LaBrenda Carruthers, Linda Andrews (Carl Andrews), Maria Wilson Dent (Tommy) Cassandra Wilson, Nanett Williams (Robert) Columbus Wilson, Jr. (Sherlita); her grandchildren, Allen Huntley (Stacey) Harold Huntley, Alexandra Carruthers, Lanita Smith (Bishop Richard), Hilary Carruthers, Jason Carruthers; two sisters, Mary D. Griffin and Annie L. Wren, many great grandchildren and friends.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 10 AM at New Mt. Olive Baptist Church with interment at Main Post Cemetery. Pastor Gloria Elise will officiate.
Visitation is Tuesday, 3 til 5 PM at the funeral home.
